Valentine’s Day: Love for Creativity

Valentine’s Day is probably one of the most important dates in the marketing world. Most (if not all) companies take advantage of this day to capture the attention of potential customers.

If you’re going to prepare your own creative pieces to communicate on Valentine’s Day, we want to get you warmed up and inspired with the greatest advertising campaigns and ideas.

Newspapers are one of the most traditional media used when promoting products. And the idea the creatives at the MullenLowe agency came up with was a stroke of genius that will transcend all time, mainly because of its simplicity and ingenuity.

If this coupon needs no explanation, it is because it is based on a powerful insight, an observation that is totally easy to recognize. If you want more information on how to exercise your creativity and how to detect insights, we recommend you put these tips into practice.

La Joie Des Fleurs – Creativity at First Sight

When you think of Valentine’s Day, you think mainly of chocolates, cards, and flowers. So it was no surprise to come across this great action using one of these products in the middle of the street. Would you have dared to use it?

Ryanair – High-Flying Creativity

Love is complicated. You’ll have heard that –even experienced it– more than once. However, what could sound like a hackneyed phrase to many may be just the inspiration others need.

In this commercial, they didn’t need captions, dialog, or even special effects to communicate an idea – just a concept that works to show what’s different about a brand “Love is complicated. Our prices are not”.

Burger King – A Sip For Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is a date that is usually celebrated by two people. There are many films that include an iconic scene showing the two main characters sharing something –an ice cream, a milkshake, or even a drink that turns into a kiss–. You know the sort of thing we’re talking about, right? How many of these unique scenes do you recognize?

The insight, or rather, the conclusion reached by the advertising creatives who made this campaign is simple: if couples share their drinks, why don’t we make a special one for Valentine’s Day? That’s how they came up with this distinctive cup.

If you’re not too young, you’ll remember that there was a time when giving a mixtape –a cassette tape with a compilation of songs– as a gift was one of the most romantic ways to show that you were in love with someone. So, for its Valentine’s Day campaign, this radio station (a classic medium) opted for a classic image. Under the concept “Every love story has a soundtrack” they emphasized how music and love have always been strongly connected.

Oops, there’s a bit of nostalgia in my eye. The good news is that you can do the same thing today with a playlist (and you still have time to do it before Valentine’s Day. Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink).

Noosa – Necessary and Unnecessary Creativity

Is it necessary to give gifts on Valentine’s Day? No, we do it because it comes from the heart, from our passion. This yogurt brand decided to use this as the basis for launching a special Valentine’s Day product, a passion fruit-flavored yogurt.

The interesting thing about this idea is how they decided to play with totally useless but fun gift ideas.

As you can see, Valentine’s Day is a great date to let your creativity fly high and communicate great ideas. You have all the inspiration you need with these examples that others have produced. Now all you need is the resources you’ll only find on Freepik to let yours take flight.
