This comic is published upside-down so you can read it on Instagram

This is a huge example that artists and designers have to constantly innovate in order to keep up with new technologies. In this case, Somerset+Mills, a group of creative artists and concept designers from Spain have set up what started as a client’s project request for a magazine.

Said project consisted in a comic to go with the magazine’s content, but they never arrived to an agreement with the client. So, instead, they decided to further explore the idea and so it evolved into a personal project that they decided to publish on Instagram.

HAIR Comic has become the first Instagram webcomic that uses the platform’s structure to its own advantage. Everything is published upside-down, so that the user has to turn their device around in order to read the comic. Since the tree last published panels are the last to be read, it makes complete sense!

The webcomic (or should we say, Instacomic?) is published in English and you can read it here. Of course, you will have to use your phone for it, unless you are able turn your computer upside-down! 🙂
