Secret ninja cat emojis for Windows

Microsoft is releasing a Windows 10 Anniversary Update, and it includes a shiny set of revamped emojis. Amongst them, we can find a character we had never encountered before: the Ninja Cat emoji.

The cat comes in six poses that we can see in the update’s preview: plain ninja cat, flying ninja cat, ninja cat working on the computer, riding a T-Rex, having a relaxing cup of coffee or just chilling in space with an astronaut suit.

The new look of the emojis is flat and colorful, complete with a 2 pixel wide stroke isolating them from their surroundings, allowing for display on any color background without losing visibility. The style is very refreshing in comparison to the previous set of Windows 10 emojis.

Also, some trivia on the human emojis via Emojipedia’s blog: the default shade for human-like emojis should be a non-human color, according to the Unicode Consortium. When they first released emojis on Windows 10 that supported different skin tones, they chose grey for representation, but they have reverted to yellow. So now, Simpson-esque emojis are back to being default, and they look awesome.
