Play-Doh Putty color palettes to inspire children’s imagination
Graphic designers won’t be able to resist to the temptation of opening a brand new cup of Play-Doh putty with this smart campaign focusing in colors, instead of shapes.
Resembling your typical color palette, the series of ads show a bird-eye view of the plastic containers, each of which has a different colored lid according to that of the putty. This original campaign format for a kids product is based on the fact that children are as inspired by color as adults are, and that each color might suggest sceneries and objects to shape with their own hands.
The 4-color selections are well-thought and accompanied by a word describing the inspiration behind it. The sailor palette contains red, blue, white and a skin tone, while the greens with a hint of red are intended to be used in the creation of a dragon. Of course the words are just a barely noticeable accent, and the colors (which children will mainly focus on) are the protagonists.
We hope that soon more work by DDB Colombia, the agency behind this idea, will be available on their website.
