Chvrches release animated comic video for Bury It starring Hayley Williams

Synth pop band Chvrches have released a music video for the song Bury It, made in collaboration with Hayley Williams. The band components and Hayley Williams, the singer from Paramore have been made into cartoon versions for the video, which has a comic aesthetic to it.

The action takes place on a rooftop, from where the characters start a flying adventure that could only be possible in animation, the band portrayed like superheros with an incredible comic book effect.

The video was produced in collaboration with Jamie McKelvie and animation studio Mighty Nice. The idea came up while they were discussing how to further their creative relationship with McKelvie, after they worked together on designs for band posters.

As an anecdote, Paramore fans have stated that they don’t feel 100% satisfied with the way Hayley was portrayed, since she was given perfect teeth instead of her characteristic front teeth gap. With or without it, her outfit was spot on. What do you think of the animation?
